Calandra Center for Health & Wellness offers the Traditional Japanese style of Reiki, in the lineage of Usui Reiki Ryoho. This lineage is distinct from the Usui-Hayashi-Takata lineage most commonly taught in the West. Traditional Japanese Reiki focuses on self-development and offers a very broad understanding of the system of Reiki.
We recognize that some people may resonate more strongly with the Usui-Hayashi-Takata lineage that allows you to access the Reiki energy by receiving attunements. We have a great respect for that lineage and its many highly-qualified teachers.
However, we believe that Traditional Japanese Reiki will help anyone certified in a different Reiki lineage to have a fuller understanding of the history of Reiki as well as the precepts, symbols, meditations, and attunements. We especially appreciate how Traditional Japanese Reiki emphasizes the cultivation of daily personal practices.
The longer you practice Traditional Japanese Reiki, the more you will recognize that Reiki does not end when the treatment does, but rather it becomes a part of your daily life. The tools and meditations are so much more than just being able to heal people. They help you on the journey of finding “true-self” and in every aspect of your life.
It is very important to us that the teachers that train at CCHW have a complete understanding of Reiki, its history, the energy, the ethics of energy work, and the importance of continuing to work on their own personal practice. This is something that is not common to all teacher certification programs. Teri is certified to teach Traditional Japanese Reiki in the lineage Usui Reiki Ryoho through the International House of Reiki, and is a member of the Shibumi International Reiki Association.
These classes have been developed to be beneficial for anyone, and you can progress at your own pace.
